Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling is the second installment in the Harry Potter Series. This follows the events of the Sorcerers Stone.

Harry is on his summer break and it is his birthday yet again and Ron, Fred and George break him out of his muggle home. They spend the next few weeks together before school starts again. Harry was informed that he is in danger by a house elf named Dobby.

Harry tries to ignore this but then strange things keep happening at Hogwarts. People keep getting petrified like what happened 50 years prior. They are informed that the chamber of secrets has been opened again.

Like always Harry, Ron and Hermione are trying to put everything together about who the Heir of Slytherin is. They go through a lot trying to find this information and Ron and Harry finally figure it out.

They figure out that Tom Riddle is the Heir of Slytherin and that it was Voldemorts given name. Harry finds out that he and Voldemort have a lot of things in common.

At the end they thwart Voldemorts plans and they go on with their classes and even free Dobby from the household that he worked for.

I think the second time reading it was very long. I think since I already knew what was going on in the book it wasn’t as interesting as it was the first time. It is still very good and I will be continuing with the series.
