Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins is the second installment in the Hunger Games Trilogy. The 74th annual Hunger Games ended with Katniss and Peeta as victors.

I have read this book before and it will always be my favorite in the main series. I like that we got to see how Katniss is dealing with the event’s of the hunger games. We also get to see more about other characters and how their relationships are.

While reading this I started to remember why this was my favorite. I forgot that Gale and Katniss had talked about running away from District 12. Katniss slo met runaways from District * and learned about an uprising which she told Gale that she wanted to be apart of.

Gale was really annoying if I am honest. He really just wanted to be alone with Katniss and did not care for how she felt of Peeta, even if he was a friend, because she and Peeta had to fake a relationship in the games to survive.

Katniss can be annoying at times but she is our main character and she is really smart. She realizes in the book that she will never be free of the games nor the capitol. Katniss has to see how she can save her family and friends. She really does not care about herself because she blames herself since Snow made her feel as if she was infighting an uprising when all she wanted to do was save herself and Peeta.

Peeta is a really sweet guy. He realizes that he should not be upset that Katniss doesn’t not share his feelings. He knows that she was trying to save them but that doesn’t mean that she has to have the same feelings. He will do anything to help and save her.

We also get a better look at how Katniss feels about both boys and if she should try to pursue something with them but she know if she picks one the other will be hurt.

The Quarter Quell was really good. I liked that we got to see Katniss strategize, even have fun in the games. We got to see what the capitol is really capable of. The alliance’s and the previous victors were also great.

I can’t wait to see what happens in Mockingjay, The Ballad of Songbirds and snakes and, The Sunrise on the Reaping. I want to see how this connects to the other character in the story and how the games have changed, the politics and also who the characters were before the events of The Hunger Games.
