daisy jones & the six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid is about a band that was brought together and their time together. The story mainly centers around Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne.

In the beginning Billy wanted to write songs and be in the biggest rock n’ roll band in the world. He and his brother Graham started a band together and eventually started playing at weddings. That is where Billy met his wife Camila.

Once they got a full band together they started to go on tour where Billy had started to get into drugs. He became addicted and needed to get some help, so that he could stay apart of his family.

Daisy Jones came from a family that really did not care for her much and that really affected her mentally. She would go out at night and hangout with the grownups and got into drugs and alcohol at a young age. This followed her all the way throughout her life.

Daisy would write songs and people would take her lyrics. They would pass them off like their own and that’s when Daisy realized that she needed to sing her own songs. She eventually got a record deal and made an album. She them went to feature on a song with The Six. They realized that what Billy and Daisy had was magical and they needed to continue singing together.

They did start to make it big and all the characters in the story were going through their own hardships. Except Warren, who seemed like he was just going with the flow and didn’t care about much but playing.

I rated this book 3/5 stars. I liked how the book was written, the characters and how complex Billy and Daisy were. I have always heard that Taylor Jenkins Reid’s writing was good but I guess I didn’t realize how unique it could be. This is my first book of hers and I do have The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and I’m looking forward to reading that in the future.

Also the updates are coming in a little delayed because I’m preparing to get a new job. I’ve been so focused on that but I have still been reading.

I also want to say a thank you to everyone who had been viewing my blog. Please leave some comments about what I should read next!
